Saidee Castillo / Founder

As a mother to a two-year-old son and with a daughter on the way, my personal experience has fueled my passion for helping others. I spent five years in a domestic violence relationship and left with nothing but the clothes on my back. Without the immediate and generous support of my friends and family, I would not have been able to rebuild my life. This experience inspired me to create Briggs Haven—a resource dedicated to providing essential support for women as they transition out of abusive situations. My goal is to ensure that every woman has a safe place and the resources she needs to begin a new life.

Hailee Aguilar / Co-Founder / Email Director

As a child born into a life surrounded by addiction and heartache, I have always felt called to care for others. Growing up, I felt a constant need to protect my younger sister. When she entered an abusive relationship, I was always looking for a way to rescue her.

Though my efforts were good intentioned, I've since learned that you can't truly understand the difficulty of leaving an abusive situation unless you've experienced it yourself. This realization taught me a crucial lesson: helping doesn't always mean a dramatic rescue. Sometimes, the most meaningful support is simple and comes in unexpected forms.

As a mother of two and a wife, I'm also a lifelong advocate for women. I'm incredibly proud of the work we're doing here and so grateful to be working in a position to give back.
